There is a big difference between Morrissey and Samberg. Morrissey wasn’t great in his own end when he started pro nor was he big. Samberg is giant and plays d very well already. Sambergs going to make the team imo barring a terrible training camp

And play Vesalainen don’t scratch him

It doesnt matter..PoMo won't start a player without a Pro game...

As for Vesa, if Perreault is still here, he is scratched....Unless he has a better camp than Apples

Pomo will fall in love with Sambergs game. No way he will be sent down unless he has a bad camp. As for Vesalainen, he will be on the team one way or another. Chevy will make it happen as long has he deserves it.

Might want to temper expectations for Samberg, he's nothing special and will likely need a season in the AHL.
I had high hopes for him but after watching him play live recently and watching all his games at the last two World Juniors imo he's a low end #4 dman at best, he'll be better then Stanley but that isn't saying much.

So having said that they'll probably have to address the defense through a trade or free agency next summer unless one of the prospects with the takes a big step this season or if they're content to go into next season with Morrissey, Pionk, Niku and Heinola as a top 4 D next season.

You clearly haven’t seen enough of him. He is a beast who can do everything. I’ve seen a lot of him and imo he will be at least a Brandon Carlo type. Maybe even more if he can hone in his offensive side

There is he just doesn’t show it. He has tons of skill offensively and has a booming shot. He just needs to let it out more (ie join the rush/even lead it) And he is starting to do that this season. He would do a lot of damage as a 4th man on the rush. Even if he doesn’t a Brandon Carlo is fine for me
