  1. Bear, Ethan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Oilers actually do have the depth on at RD to make this sort of move. Larsson is under rated imo, Bouchard is certainly coming, and Benning is a rather solid 5-6 guy. With Broberg (a couple years away) amd Caleb Jones ripe, Oilers have the goods to pull this off. Bracco is that young forward with top 6 potential written all over him, and looking at the Leafs depth on the wings, a player who can be moved if it means getting a solid defenseman back.

That guy is Bear. Young, can skate well enough and move the puck. Just a solid pick up to start rounding out the RD long term in Toronto.

Conitional pick based on compared performance as Bear has NHL experience. Thinking a 3rd at most.

Not opposed to bringing back Ceci. Certainky less money than Tanev I would have to think, but Tanev is better me thinks.

Ceci has no protection. If Dubas wants him gone he'll be gone. Hyman on the other hand, it's pretty clear he is more important than you think.

Why I said debate moving Hyman..... I understand his value, also understand cap space. Hence......

I'd sooner move Kapanen or if the defence needs to be remade, Marner over Hyman. He does stuff no one else does and it's needed. I'm hoping he influences guys like Mikheyev and Korshkov in the future and help them do what he can do.

As Logan said above, there's better ways to get cap relief than trading Hyman...he's too important/valuable to move.
Will probably have to live with him leaving as a UFA tho. I'm okay with that seeing as Leafs have nobody else that does what Hyman does.
