Get both, but you're over the cap, so buy low on Panik if he keeps slumping, and call it good.

When Zucker was almost traded to calgary it was before his NTC kicked in. I believe it was reported that all Canadian teams are on his list so I believe the ball is in his court

Kreider will be in high demand, he would go for a 1st and JP I think

      I think it's pretty fair value. A rental Kreider isn't worth a 1st+

about 1% of trades comes with an extension, so that's unbelievable. maby Zucker can fetch Puljujärvi and a 1 if he continue to produce cuz he got some term at god cost, but not Kreider. Puljujärvi and a 3rounder for Kreider would be fair, maybe even a 4th. hard to believe he extends there

Probably prefer Zucker just because I could see regression in Krieder player type (power forward). But honestly, the Oilers need a guy like Elias Lindholm. Gritty, RH and can play C or W.

Any suggestions on players you'd like to see them pursue? Myself i like the idea of JP to Carolina for Gauthier and a third

I think if we do decide to trade JP, it should be as part of a bigger package. Like what can we get for JP and our 2nd round pick? Hopefully a young top 6 forward with term right? I wish we could find a deal like Colorado did for Burakovsky. Traded futures for immediate help that can be part of the plan moving forward.

But with no relation to JP, some of the guys I'd like to see us go after are:

      Toffoli
      Pageau
      Ryan Strome (yes, I know)

If you notice, you'd see they're all right handed and I think Pageau and Strome both play C and W. Strome is an RFA after this year which is good for contractual purposes and he was well liked in the room. The way Pageau is playing, he's probably out-pricing himself out of Edmonton unless Ottawa wants JP and a 2nd and he'd still have to agree to a reasonable contract. So I think Strome and a 3rd/2nd for JP alone is fair but that might be skewed with the way he's playing

I've always said the Oilers are a top 6 forward and a 3rd line centre away from contention.

      Draisaitl - McDavid - Kassian
      ???? - Nuge - Neal
Nygard or Granlund - ???? - Chiasson or Haas
      Khaira - Sheahan - Archibald

      Klefbom - Larsson
      Nurse - Bear
      Russell - Benning

I think when everyone's healthy, they're all slotted in places where they should succeed. Insert a couple impact forwards and you might have something.

imho if i am in the oilers shoes i wouldn't want to trade puju for a player they might loose at the end of the year to ufa. unless kreider is being traded with an extension idk if the trade makes sense.

I never liked Strome, actuallly scratch that, i never liked the trade. I liked that he filled his role and I agree he makes a lot of sense in Edmonton. Not sure if Rangers would give up a pick as well for JP as Strome has played well and might be out of our asset range. I agree Pageau may be to expensive, and I don't know if Toffoli makes sense unless it's a pick and a different prospect

Trochek out of Florida is also another guy I'd trade JP ++ for. Depending on what ++ is though. For Pageau, I'd be willing to trade Marody or JP ++ depending which prospect Ottawa likes more. I'm not a huge Marody fan, his skating is an issue to me and unless he gets an Ethan Bear offseason, I think he's going to be a Gagner type player.

Might be a little more defensive though then Gagner but yea. doubt Florida moves Trochek though
