Works for me.

I think Backes is going to spend a lot of time on LTIR for the rest of the contract though, so it won’t be that much of a problem.

Agree. He’s heading to the finish line. I’m just looking to get some assets for the last 1-2 years of our build and this deal works pretty well for both sides.

Don’t blame you at all. I love Lauko and Vaaks but they aren’t really up for a deal like this I assume

I don’t think the Bruins move a first and a former first rounder for a deal where all they get back is a few months of Ryan stroke. Like others suggested, I think Backes is not going to affect the bruins cap situation moving forward.

Yea for sure but don’t you need a cup before you think to pursues the youth plan? Or just stay conservative?

Strome is an RFA to be not a UFA. Even if they chose not to re-sign him they could trade his rights and recoup a chunk of what they gave up.

Backes isn't holding this team back and could very well go LTIR soon. Buyout in the off-season and give up nothing
