Lol what??? You're taking puljujarvi and one of Edmontons best forward prospects, and you're giving us a cap dump, a 23 year old who might not even make it at the NHL level, and a 3rd... You're trading out Helm who's on the books for 2 years instead of Gagners 1. I like Helm, but ideally he's a good 4th liner at this point, and he's not much more valuable than Gagner. Don't know why Edmonton takes on that extra year. This whole trade is ridiculous

Gagner is better and has a better contract than Helm.

Puljujarvi is one of your best forward prospects has 37 points in 139 games wow. Seriously he is a bottom 6 forward at best and he's playing in Finland. While Hirose has gone right from college to the NHL and has yet to play a game in the AHL and his ppg is almost double than Puljujarvi's ppg.

Not close, don't be ridiculous, Puljuarvi has way more value than Hirose. He struggled as a 19 old which is not uncommon at all, Hirose couldn't even sniff the NHL at that age. JP still has a lot of upside, Hirose is an NHL/AHL tweener.

Puljujarvi

The article by Scott Wheeler is a very good article. The thing I really like on The Athletic is most of the writers include videos to back up the point they are making.

Now I've read through it a couple of times and you move Puljujarvi down from the NHL and the AHL and he is really good offensively and puts up big numbers and does most of the little stuff well. He is a very good skater so that's not the issue. So that leads me to think it's the speed of the game mentally he just can't process what is going as fast as players in the NHL have to. So being in Finland's top League isn't helping much and in my opinion he should be in the KHL which is the second best and second fastest league in the world. After 100 games in the NHL his draft position doesn't mean much. If Hirose gets traded ok it's no big deal and your assessment of Hirose is the most likely scenario. but it doesn't change change his ppg which is .45 while Puljujarvi's ppg .25..

I know poolparty is just a kid but the optics just look bad. if steve wanted to send a pick and a guy like perlini or erne that can atleast play in the league then maybe. thats all the interest id have.
