Team: 2019-20 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 17, 2019
Published: Nov. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sabres really need to shake this team tf up. Adding Toffoli and Zucker help the offense out immensely. Both former 30 goal scorers and are massive improvements over what we had. adding Gustafsson shores up the left side as the Right side is good. As a NYR/BUF fan I know Georgiev could be double the "goalie" Hutton pretends to be. You are not winning with 2 backups. Before people say Georgiev is a backup, Henrik Lundqvist is the guy he plays with not Ullmark. Sabres will need to extend Toffoli and Gustafsson as well which could cost around $7-9M for them. Lucic trade is to get some grit In the lineup and save some cap since Okposo is a tragic player here and if we can't secure a player like Backes or Eriksson for him.

I just remember how Lucic killed Ryan Miller, at least for this reason alone I do not want to see him. Boston just doesn't need Okposo, Eriksson maybe, I don't know. Maybe Okposo + for Kovalchuk, I think we could sweeten the deal with a solid prospect and pick.

I could definitely live with Kovalchuk. Put him with the right guys and he can pot a few.

The last thing I'm doing is moving our first. I mean absolutely not. I can't stand okposo either, but he's an extremely overpaid 4th liner here, I'm not sure if Lucic can actually play hockey at this point. I don't hate lucic, I just don't think it helps.

These moves make us deadly. We don’t need it after this overhaul and the prospects we got coming? Laaksonen Cozens Luukonen etc

I agree with this post. Very nicely done. Excess out and production in. Botts is just so patient and doesn’t like the all in approach. Can’t blame him tho. The original team blows.

It's so long ago- the sabres were way too soft and got rolled for it. Changes were made, then the league changed, and now it's hard to say as the regular season and playoffs are not the same. With so many changes since it happened, the big question is- would lucic be an upgrade over okposo? I think he would not.

Given that the Jackets are overstrength at LD at both the NHL and AHL levels, we have less than zero interest in Scandella unless we're getting assets in exchange for taking him on.
