Kirby Dach is a Gem

Description
I don't care what the haters say. Kirby Dach is an absolute beast. The reason Bowman drafted Kirby Dach is because the kid is a big boy that was ready for the NHL now. And boy is he ready! He has more points than Kappo Kakko in less games. He has one less point than Jack Hughes in less games. Plus, Kirby Dach is a more complete player than either of the top 2 picks. I'm not gonna say it yet (Hi Victor Olofsson) but I wonder about a certain shiny piece of hardware... It starts with a C and ends with a der... DON'T YOU SAY IT!

Calder belongs to Makar. Not taking anything away from Dach by any means. Makar has been the most dominant Rookie thus far and is not going to slow down any time soon.

Agreed. Makar has been playing out of his mind, however, Dach has been playing at or above expectations for most of his time in the NHL. Also a great kid listen to his interview on Spittin Chiclets if you haven't. Kid has a great attitude and a love for the game rivaled by the vets on the team.

Agreed with this. Dach has been great, but Makar has been incredible.

I was in Denver for work and saw the Avs-Preds blowout. Makar was perfect in that game. Made no mistakes, walked the line like a guy who's been in the league for 10 years. He's going to be an impact NHLer for a very long time. Makar is the clear cut Calder favorite right now.

I was going to say Contender... That's more important anyway. Makar is going to win the Calder. He is the real deal for sure.

I did hear some of his interview there, yup. I would have loved for the Avs to have drafted him. He was too big and strong for an 18 year old, right-handed centerman to pass up. I'm thinking Joe would have picked him over Byram. I'm certainly happy with Bryam as a consolation though! haha

Makar is definitely winning the calder, the kid is arguable a top 5 D man in the league already. Dach is an elite talent though, producing while on the 4th line is the sign of a special player (And both goals scored last night were against the Eichel line). He has pleasantly surprised me, that's for sure.

As has been said, Makar will likely win Calder, Olofsson and Quinn Hughes will be the runners up. Ya Dach played really well last night, Sabres were an embarrassment. Reflecting back on this draft in 5 years though, doubt Dach would be in the top 5 in the draft. Hughes, Kakko, Cozens, Byram, Broberg, Caufield probably going to be all better
