Buffalo and Toronto

Created by: MNBassman
Team: 2019-20 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 18, 2019
Published: Nov. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
  2. Nylander, William
  3. Sandin, Rasmus
Additional Details:
Don't kill me over the value swap here - I don't know what Sandin's or Liljegren's trade value is, or how they are developing.
Make counter-offers please.
TOR
  1. Brodin, Jonas ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. Dumba, Matt
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
The Buffalo trade is (sort of) dependent on this one.
2.
MIN
  1. Okposo, Kyle
  2. Ristolainen, Rasmus
  3. 2020 1st round pick (BUF)
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Mittelstadt is an option here too instead of pick/s. While Zuccarello's contract is bad, he is a monster upgrade over Okposo's.
Breakdown: Zucker for Risto and the 2nd. Zuccarello for Okposo and the 1st.
BUF
  1. Zuccarello, Mats
  2. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
IF Zuccarello is willing to waive his NMC...
Wild lose Zucc's NMC so they can protect players they want to build around in the expansion draft, and get some big and nasty for their blue line. Okposo can come home and get paid WAY too much to play on the 4th line...
3.
MIN
  1. Backes, David
  2. Beecher, John [Reserve List]
  3. 2020 1st round pick (BOS)
  4. 2020 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Trade is for Beecher and the 2nd OR the 1st and 2nd.
4.
MIN
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (CHI)

That is a hard pass from TO. Sandin is going to be a stud, Liljegren looks like he's going to be a really good player and Nylander is already doing great this season. All for Dumba is just way too much of a price. That being said, I'd do Marner for Dumba as as tarting point.

It's for Dumba, Brodin (with $2million retained) and a 2nd...not JUST Dumba.

What about the 1st and 2nd??? If you read my remarks, I said Beecher and the 2nd OR the 1st and 2nd.

So you want the sabres to add to risto for Zucker? No it's the other way around.
You also want them to pay a 1st for a worse contract with a nmc? Also a no

Still no.

Backes is pretty likely to spend most of the remainder of his contract on LTIR. It’s not going to be that big of a problem.

Backes 1st Senyshyn...deal

Brodin doesn't matter, neither does the 2nd. Nylander for Dumba is close, whether you guys want to accept that or not, I don't care. Adding Sandin who may be a front runner for the Calder next season and Liljegren who also looks like he's going to be a great player and Nylander? You better be getting legit #1 elite defenceman in return. Dumba is behind Rielly and while he looks really good and still will get better, he isn't Hedman or Doughty or Karlsson, so this return is just bonkers.

I think Sandin is as close to a non-starter in the organization as you can get right now. He looks terrific already and is still young, they won't move him, even if they do land Dumba.
At least that's the rumour. They say a lot of teams ask about him whenever they talk trade with Dubas

Why would you throw in Senyshyn. If you cared to read what he wrote, you would know that it is Backes, the 1st, and a 2nd. Why do you do this?
"Trade is for Beecher and the 2nd OR the 1st and 2nd."

@MNBassman Bruins accept! (with the 1st, not Beecher) Good trade for both teams!

Lol, not really. Why because of a couple of assists? Please, put a monkey on skates and throw him out there and he will people up couple of assists by dumb luck.

He’s been weak on the puck. Plays timid and does not use his speed at all.

That is very wrong again. He has been strong on the puck, has been forechecking well when given the time, and one of the assists was due to hard forecheck. He has also played fast and has caused a few good breakaways. Also each assist (and the Coyle one taken away) have shown excellent vision. If you watch the games you would see this. I am also done arguing with you here lol, just cut your loses and move on man, it just makes no sense to keep trying to make me feel bad? Idk if thats ur goal at this point but its just annoying more than anything

I watch every game. After the Montreal game he has shown very little. As much as i hate to give Haggerty credit for anything even he has seen that. Bruins fans are so desperate for him not to suck that they get excited over any sign of life. Now is the time to use him to upgrade. Middle 6 wingers can come from nowhere. He’s replaceable. Kuhlman and Steen internally will do that over the course of the next few years. Keep the pick. The org is pretty shallow to begin with. The window is now.

I wouldn't be so sure... Now im not saying its an even trade, but Buffalo is buying and wants to get rid of Okposo to make space. Zucker and Zucc are both great offensive players and would help. a lot. Also Buffalo give up Risto and a 1st, but if they go for the cup, the 1st will be pretty low. Again, not saying its even, but its a good trade for both teams in some way. Rude to say what you said

I want no part of a 33 year old on a 5 year contract. The 1st is never happening we are still building here. Not an even trade at all

If the Oilers look poised to make a serious run at the Cup at the deadline, but are one Mikko Koivu away...I gotta believe the Oiler faithful would be OK with them giving up their 2020 1st.

If Zuccarello waived his NMC to go to Buffalo, his NMC would no longer exist(at least that’s how I understand it). So, in reality, Buffalo gives up a 10 minute a night, oft-injured, already declined player for a player who is still very good. Both contracts are horrible, but Buffalo gets the one attached to a player who can still contribute. This is a huge win for the Sabres!

I doubt Holland would do that though. He's building for the long term, you don't get there by trading your 1st. Anything else you'd like? Edmonton has an abundance of NHL-ready D prospects, for instance.
