Adding Right Handed Shot

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 18, 2019
Published: Nov. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Duclair , Toffoli, Hinnistroza and Brown

These are the 4 Right Handers i believe that can add to MTL current system and have Career Years either this or next year for MTL.(similar to Armia )

i like Connor Brown the best as his style of game is based on hard work and never giving up on a play .He's someone who could grow into a steady 3rd line role for MTL with Nick Suzuki and Tatar . A Line built to never stop forechecking or pushing the play . it takes more to get him then the rest though

Toffoli makes sense to but his success is always based on whom he plays beside. MTL isnt a team that can afford players who need their hands held .

Duclair has Chemistry we'd be banking on that but worst case scenario he's still an upgrade on Weal

Hinnistroza is more of a wild card as his size and speed makes him an asset for our style of play .

On Kotkanemi playing LW:
Danaults a UFA in another 2 seasons so getting KK some increased icetime beside someone who's been top 10 in faceoffs the past 2 seasons makes sense given how hard KK struggled this year in the faceoff circle .(Claude scratched him after he took a 2nd penalty of the season on the faceoff so wing makes sense)

As he grows we'll be in a position to trade him as Kotkanemi , Suzuki and Poehling all grow into their roles with Nate Thompson playing a role similar as Bulk faceoffs guy from 4th line like Matt Cullen in PIT during their back to back cups

Suzuki's thriving as Center even earning a top 6 promotion as they pushed Domi to LW something KK has not been strong enough to do thus far. Its not his fault they keep changing the faceoff rules . Suzuki had an Edge because the CHL is where the NHL tests out a lot of these changes.

either way Suzuki and KK both get more ice time but doing this which i'm all sure we agree is best
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Hinostroza, Vinnie
Additional Details:
MTL gets a player in a similar position to what Paul Byron was before playing here .

Byron at 2.4m cap for 4 years with a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st if MTL makes SCF with VH playing 50% or more of the games gives ARZ value for a player that's struggling to find a role in ARZ after a career high year .
ARI
  1. Byron, Paul ($1,000,000 retained)
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
MTL retains 1 m and gives up a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st if we make SCF is a price we can take on . if it works we paid a high cost for a middle 6 guy but won because of it , if it fails we lost value but nothing to lose sleep over .

Byron's been outright replaced on special teams by Nick Suzuki and its really hurt his game here in MTL.He carved out a role and made a name for himself there but now the youth movements pushing him out like it did Shaw and will eventually do to Tatar.
2.
MTL
  1. Fleury, Haydn
Additional Details:
slight upgrade in our #6/7 LD

he's here not because he got 3 measly points more then Kulak but because his brothers here helping redefine how our team plays physically and Hayden can help him do that .

Fleury's a good guy to throw hits and block a shot here and there but he's not a strong enough skater or good enough positionally to be a regular.

i'm banking on Brothers competing together will grow together. having Kulak's speed is more helpful in the regular season but come playoffs we'll need the big goomers like Hayden if we want to go the distance .
CAR
  1. Kulak, Brett
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
high price to pay for a player who's in a similar position to Beaulieu when we declared him a 1st round bust . . . that being said we just need him to hit hard and block shots.

the gamble here in our favor is he has a big booming slap shot with no accuracy that Shea might be able to help him tame . IF he can do that then he might turn into a reliable Grit option long term

Hinostroza is a guy I would like to see on the Habs, out of the listed ones he would be who to target.

Bergevin isn't moving his 3rd overall center to the LW, he wont make that mistake again.
