Interesting. This is a pretty good lineup that will compete every night. I agree that CAL needs to unload Wideman and BOS makes senses. I just doubt that Hayes is the type of asset in return.

I also don't believe that Treliving gives Johnny a million more per year over Monahan - could stir the pot.. I think he'd like to see them both in and around the 6mil mark.

Have to agree with fergy39... Don't think the deal with Boston will float... Team that needs Wides the most is NJ - plus they have lots of open cap space! (virtually no scoring d-men - and only 4 NHL D signed so far - he would be on the #1 PP unit and probably 2nd pair - so a good move for Wides as well)...

As for Johnny and Mony... I really hope Try plays this smart... Little less money (IE 5.5-6 mil each) but a 3 year for Mony and 4 year for Johnny... This would split the 2 players next signing years and for the next resign they will both still be RFA (I think?)... Then is 3-4 years they both get 7-8 year deals at big money and we keep them locked up for as long as possible!

Mangiapane and Andersson both making the team this year is a long shot BUT if it happens... Yahoo!!!! Would be great!!!

- I dont like a bridge deal for Gaudreau at all. Monahan okay i can see the justifications there.
But Johnny is an elite winger he's already proven it he's not going anywhere when it comes to regression he will if anything only get better. Therefore having Johnny lockeed in at 6-7 for 8 years makes a lot of sense you get top production for him at a very cost effective cap hit. If you do a 2-3 year bridge deal which is the max his agent would go without being insulted now you're pushing 25-26 and you're signing him for 8 years at 10-12M depending on where the cap is? you're asking for cap troubles as he ages and speed declines.
