Dude Nylander's contract is a steal. He's been one of our better players lately. Put Ceci instead.

Don’t even start, he’s been floating around the ice the most of any leaf, hasn’t gone in front of net at all to get rebounds, hasn’t gone to corners to get pucks all of his #’s are down a ton just google them and then come back and tell me that Ceci is the worst Cause he has actually improved dramatically since becoming a leaf, all leaf fans want is a big point producing guy and he’s not that guy that’s y everyone hates him

Ok boomer. How has marner done? Marner is way overpaid compared to nylander. They are both 75-85 point players except one makes almost 4 million more then the other. Nylanders numbers are up and he is more valuable to the leafs

I agree with this. Ceci takes unnecessary heat. He is not the problem in TOR on defense. Go look at Holl who should be in the AHL, Rielly and Barrie who can't play in their own end.

OK boomers people then says a guy with career point highs of 61 is a 85 point player tears of joy
I'm guessing this is what is meant by millennial entitlement

Holl has been their best RD so far. Ceci has improved but he is being put in a terrible role. He should be on the 3rd pair or traded

on to the original post, it's amazing how quickly the league is cleaning up bad contracts. It's like GMs are starting to figure it out slowly. No more long contracts on guys who are average players. 2-3 years max.
7 year deals only for proven players who are young enough to play through them.

“Ok boomer” haha what are u an 18 year old college student, also nylander is projected for 63 points- 30 goals 33 assists in 82 games, Marner is projected for 68 points- 15 goals 53 assists in only 68 games and that’s just points no other stat

I guess you dont know what improvement and development are. Did you know that as players get older they generally get better until they hit their peak. That's what they call an aging curve. Before marner played with Tavares he was an average 65 point player. Basic maths are hard but in the US they are occasionally starting to pay for college tuition for seniors. Maybe that applies to you

holl gets 14 minutes a night because the coaching staff knows he's a weak link on the ice.

yeah basic maths are hard.....61 is less than 85....lets come up with excuses now for how you can't do simple math

Agree on Cici. He is what he is, but mostly he's become the new scapegoat.

Disagree on Holl. I think this guy is showing himself to be a steady rhd. It's hard to know what he is cause he was scratched for almost all of last year, but his been one of the few bright spots this year, imo.

I don't know what to think of Barrie. He's looking lost. Same can be said of Rielly in his own end. He might be playing hurt though. He's certainly missing Hainsey..

He should be getting more tho. Hes a good skater, a good puck mover, hes a solid penalty killer, hes big so he can win puck battles and so far he's had great numbers. He is better then ceci in every way

Nylander will score 75 points this year, marner will not. One is making almost 7 million, one is making almost 11 million. Nylander has also been their best RW this season so...

Goli's is worse than Stepan's, Okposo's and Skinner's are both way worse than Bogo's, Nino is on a steal of a deal, Reiner's is the worst, you can argue that Trouba's is worse than Staal's, but ?‍♀️, it's very close, how is Schutz's contract the worst on pit... I'd take his before Galch, JJ, Hornqvist, Tanev, it's probably slightly below market value lmao, Faulk's is probably worse that Steen's, Marner's is definitely way worse than Nylander's he's on a steal of a deal currently (Ceci's is worse as well, and both their LTIR contracts if you're going to count Kesler's, Stephenson's is probably worse than Panik's, but I like Panik sooo, and Little and Wheeler's contracts are both way worse than Kulikov's (due to term) and Scheif's, Connor's, Ehlers, and Morrissey's are all better than Laine's, and I'd take basically any d man's contract on CAR than Aho's

I like how Edmonton's "best" contract is one of the best overall and their "worst" contract isn't even that bad. Things are looking up in Edmonton.

yes sure, a 27 year old all star was hiding in the AHL this whole time, who knew?
He gets the softest minutes of anyone on the leafs. They hide him. Which is why he gets 14 minutes a night.

Where did I say he was an all star? I said hes benn better then barrie and ceci who haven't been very good. Hes always been good but babcock has never used him. He should be getting more minutes because hes better then ceci who is getting way to many and should be on the 3rd pair

that's just it, he hasn't been better than Ceci, who takes much harder minutes. And you don't seem to under stand that. You are too busy hating on a guy who is playing decently above where he should be and been paired with Rielly who is a disaster in his own end. most of the games.

Ceci is also a disaster in his own end. You are comparing apples to a thing that doesnt exist because playing holl in those minutes has never happened before. By just comparing the two players without seeing their on ice results you see that holl is a better player. Holl is better at pretty much everything and is a good decision maker (ceci went to the rasmus ristolainen school of good decisions). At the very most ceci has been average in his role, at the very least holl could do the very same but most likely he will do better because he is an all around better player.
