Just kind of spit-balling here, cause I tend to notice these things a lot, but is there any real reason as to why the trio of Seider, Veleno, and Zadina are on this roster? Why deploy Rasmussen, Veleno, and Seider in sub-optimal roles for their playertype if you are going to have them on the roster? What's become of Svechnikov? Is Givani really suited to be a healthy scratch for the majority of his career or would playing him over - I dunno - Abdelkader be better for his development? Why is Abdelkader still on this roster? What has either Bertuzzi or Fabbri done to warrant that kind of payday? Is Larsson actually ready for NHL minutes as a back-up despite his .5852sv% in his 6 career professional games?

Rebuild isn't over son. Keeping the trio in the AHL for an extra year can't hurt Veleno or Seider, maybe it's worth looking into having Zadina play NHL games if he starts ripping the AHL up, but a pace for 42 points in 60 games doesn't necessarily scream NHL-ready top six forward.

id be shocked to see AA back. as much as I like him I feel hes the chip to help expediate the fixes on the blue line. hronek looks like he belongs and if dekeyser weas ever healthy he can be a decent second pair guy. add cholo who shows flashes and you have a foundation atleast with seider on the way.. if they could just bring in that first pair guy to lead these kids it could shape up real nice.

The Fabbri contract makes no sense too long of a term/money for an injury prone player that has yes played well since being on Detroit but that's only a few games. I like him as much as every other fan but there is no way he gets longer term/money than AA.

If Bertuzzi keeps at his current pace, it might end up being closer to six than anything else. I think right now 5.5 is pretty fair. The dude has 20 points in 22 games, on pace to shatter his current record of 47 in 72. He's proving this year that last year wasn't a fluke, and he's legit. But I will agree this is an overpay for Fabbri If I've ever seen one.
