The account is 99% a fraud but I would rather them lose the games and fire babs

He’s been right a bunch of times, he’s one of the more legitimate hockey news sources on twitter. Had Tavares to leafs and panarin to the rangers months before.

Over the weekend I had the NHL channel on in the background and they think Babcock is done if the Leafs don't make it past the Bruins in the playoffs.

Yeah bob Mackenzie reported islanders were front runners for panarin and this account doubled down that he was going to the rangers. He’s pretty legit. Also said that management met with players today and the core leafs players said Babcock is the main problem, doesn’t utilize them correctly

Why wait that long? If management was considering firing him after last year's annual out-coaching by the Bruins, and they're still considering it, then why wait? Enough of the foreplay, fire him after they lose to Vegas.

By the time this roadie is done, it'll be damn near Chirstmas and there'll be less than 50 games left. Why waste the dozen or so chances at two points?

I may be in the minority, but I’d rather them win all of the games. I don’t have anything against Babcock other than his bullish attitude towards certain lineup choices. I still think he’ll get the year to prove himself. The year is still young and Dubas and Shanahan don’t strike me as people that cave to public pressure. If they’re ready to drop Babcock, I doubt they rest their decision on the road trip. Pretty sure they already know what they’re going to do regardless of the outcome of a couple of games.

Maybe I’m just old fashioned but I would like to see the leafs win. Seems to be such an odd sentiment with such a confused fan base.

I don’t think Babs job should be based on results but how he deploys players. Does he start riding his top two lines. Does he adjust the PP personal. Does he give some better and more starts for our back ups and let andersson steal some games. If Babs makes the right decisions keep him... but he won’t.

If Babcock can turn it around, become more open to suggestion and adapt himself to the changes in todays game, then he probably would have done it by now, but he hasn't. nobody buys into his systems and it is clear that they are sick of how he misutilizes them, and that they likely won't be receptive to his changes. For those reasons, Babcock, for the long term, is not going to help this team... if a small losing streak is what it takes to put this team on the right track for next 5 years, then so be it. I really like what Sheldon Keefe has done for the marlies, and his values align well with Dubas'- I think he deserves a shot. They really remind me of the penguins the year they fired Mike Johnston and gave the role to Sullivan (obviously leafs have less experience).

Huh. Well, if that's true and the core is ID'ing Babcock as the main problem, then barring some miracle on this road swing I'd say he's cooked.

But this could be the miracle... if the core called him out then they better show up and put in a solid effort while on the road. Cause if they're personally outing Babcock as the problem then there better be no question to their effort and play. And if Babcock knows that he got outed then it could be wise to play the core the way they want to be played. And if they still blow it then it's a pretty clear sign that it's not just Babcock..

So, back to the miracle idea...Core outs Babcock. Babs finds out. The Babcock adapts and plays the team the way the core wants to play. This playing to a team's strength gives a positive result. Leafs win. Babs and core forced to repeat the process in order for everyone to keep their jobs. Leafs win. Fanbase calms down. Viola... a miracle!

Or.. Babcock doubles down on his method of madness. Leafs suck. We lose. Babs is fired.. and there will be pain.

I think the second scenario is more likely.

Yup. He needs to be able to show he can change things up especially when things aren't working. If he can't demonstrate that quality, then he's digging his own grave. And that's what he's being doing for this whole calendar year, imo.

Maybe things change. But I doubt it

Trying the same thing and expecting a different result is insane. The leafs dont want to play for babcock and expecting babcock to change going into boston when they play them in the first round is crazy. I honestly think change for the sake of change is the way to go. The leafs have many more years of contention but there is no reason to waste this one. Before everyone was injured this season he almost only played the 4th line in the d zone. I believe that they should be putting matthews in that role until he shows he is capable of playing in his own end. Hes a wizard with his stick but he looks lost out there.

There are things he changes but he always makes them way too late. Marleau was washed, back when komarov and martin needed to be moved down it took him till January. He always overplays guys like ceci or polak. He doesnt believe a team can win on the second half of a back to back and his thinking is outdated. You know who they could have used last season? Holl. He makes up his mind on things and refuses to change it. Leivo is very good, holl is good. Nylander should have been playing with Matthews last year but he refused to change things and we ended up getting out coached in game 6 and 7.

On occasion he out galaxy brains himself (Line matching in OT) and I don't want to waste a whole season. He does do some things well. They have been a relatively strong possession and xG team but with the talent they have they should be way better. He isnt optimising the roster and its showing. I personally haven't missed a game since they finished in last and even then I watched most of those games but I dont see the point in watching them if they are just going lose to boston in the 1st round. I believe they at least have a top 5 roster based on talent so they should easily make they playoffs but even now it isnt looking to good

I think they wait cause there's a fair bit a stake. If they fire a guy who is very likely a future Hall of Famer and they still suck then Dubas wears it, which means Shanahan will wear it too. Which means this core will wear it. They got to be pretty crystal that Babs is the main problem. I think they've been giving him lots of rope for that reason. And it seems to be pretty clear at this point that Babcock is a pretty big part of the problem. Especially if it's true that the core is calling him out.
