Instead of the price that you paid for Georgiev, would the leafs perhaps be willing to trade Hutchinson, Bracco, a second, and a conditional pick for Markstrom at 50% retained?

Nylander is one of our best players this season, but Calgary and Toronto should really consider a trade right now. They can both help each other.

My preference would be a blockbuster trade for Tkachuk, but swapping Barrie for Hamonic (with something done for cap considerations) could be something that works.

Barrie + Nylander doesnt get the conversation started on Tkachuk, more like Marner + 1st for Tkachuk + Hamonic. Chucky is very clearly proving to be a franchise player that you build a team around and Nylander + Barrie just doesnt even fit close to that

I had considered making a trade with Marner after the Calgary one. With Gaudreau being a good passer, he could take Marner's spot with JT and add Mikheyev as the work horse.
Marner would then be able to fetch a solid DMan to cover for Barry's spot.

Leafs give up 3 Dmen two regular NHler and get one 3rd pair Dman back. Give up 4 picks and receive one late round pick back. Give up 3 top 6 forwards and get one back. Seems like we are moving in the wrong direction.

I proposed a Barrie for Hamonic swap in another ACGM (obviously the salaries would need to work) but what do you think of the idea from your perspective?

So my current view is Barrie + Kap for Hammer + Bennett solves both teams issues. I could see either a 4th or Jon Gilles being included from Calgary's side and 12% retention on Hamonic evens out the cap really closely

I really like that idea and agree that it would benefit both teams. Makes too much sense to me. Thanks
