You want the guy that is on pace for the worst defensive guy in league history!

I make those trades as an Oiler fan without hesitating. Pretty sure Detroit values AA really highly and would want more, not that he’s even available though.

Oilers missed out on JGP. Should have made a move for him early, before he started putting numbers up

As a Wings fan I have to say you hit the nail on the head. His slow start landed him on the trading block but 8 points in his last 9 games is making a trade involving AA less likely. There is still a lot of hockey to be played so who knows. If they do trade AA most likely won't be until the TDL.

Meh. He's shooting 25% right now - it won't last. By TDL he'll have come back to earth and be his typical 30-point self again and his price will be more reasonable.

He's still a black hole defensively. You can't win with that on your team. His on-ice GF-GA at 5v5 in the past 9 games: 6 GF - 11 GA. His GA/60 this season is 5.02, the 4th worst number in the league for forwards.

Not saying Detroit should take this deal, but if someone offers you fair value for this player you don't look back, IMO.

laugh laugh Benning is trash, AA would cost you at least Broberg if not more. Benning+2nd is a royal joke for a player that would come with a long term extension here.

Yeah well Benning+2nd isn't a fair deal for AA, Nowhere even close to being a fair deal Benning is trash and we don't need him.

Benning is worth a 2nd, so you're getting two 2nds for AA. I'm sure Yzerman asks for more, but I'm not sure who will pay more. Maybe someone who can't read a spreadsheet and whose pro scouts are legally blind?

So does AA suck? Or Do you want to see him traded to Edmonton?

Because when you try to convince Detroit fans that AA is awful and should be traded and turn around and want him traded to Edmonton you sound like a fool.

The more I look into his stats the more I don't want him. But, of course, any trade has to be looked at with regards to the price.

Benning whom has 58 points in 227 games and is a 3rd pairing Dman is worth a 2nd, laugh Yeah hardly.

Like i stated in previous threads, If Yzerman were to deal AA it would be for a younger player. Not the same age or older then AA.

I don't know. I understand Holland is asking for a decent forward prospect + a 2nd. It sounds like there are teams interested at that price, they just haven't agreed on the quality of the prospect yet. Puljujarvi has said recently that he expects to be in Finland the entire season which is likely because he must sign by December 1st in order to play in the NHL this season - and that's just 11 days away.

Ok boomer.

- Carolina paid a 2nd for TVR
- Buffalo paid a 2nd + a 5th for Colin Miller
- In a re-draft Benning would be picked about 35-40th, that's early 2nd round material.
- The average 2nd round pick has about a 25% chance of playing 200+ NHL games, which Benning just surpassed recently.

Now read this comp of the 3 players: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/281171&post_id=1137703

Dude he's a 6th round pick and a bottom pairing Dman that's not worth a 2nd i'm sorry. Benning to us isn't worth a 2nd round pick. Detroit already has tons of bottom pairing Dmen within their system. Sorry Benning isn't a need period.

Read the link. Where he was drafted means absolutely nothing vis-a-vis his value today. Slavin was drafted in the 4th round of the same draft, does that mean I can get him for a 4th? smh.

Bottom line he's a 3rd pairing RHD that Detroit has tons of, He's still not worth a 2nd to us.
