Monahan is an offensive boost from Johansen. I would say Johansen plays a more rounded game though but that's my personal opinion.
Ellis > 1 year of Hamonic + the ability to overpay him from there on out
Bennett is a 20-30 point player with suspect defensive ability. He's not really an upgrade on anything we already have and see no reason for Nashville to go after him.

Calgary can't afford the extra cap and Nashville overpays.

I agree it's an overpay - I do like monahan for johansen+ though

For what Nashville is giving up here, I'd expect Gaudeau to be part of the return.

that 1 year is the problem. I do agree Hamonic would be better suited but I'm afraid what Hamonic's next deal is gonna be.
