How about lets all stop going over the top on these "trade half the team to fix the issue of the team not having meshed yet." Its really getting old.

Both teams...especially the Leafs should know this year is lost. So the Leafs shouldn't be giving up futures. Reset in the summer.
So the trade is Bennett and Hanifan for Mikheyvov, Korshov (who shows promise) Timashov (why is not seeing more ice time) and first and second rounder. Too much for Leafs for to give up especially when the main piece is a LHD, not really a position in the future..
