Stop with this trade. They are not gonna trade Barrie at his lowest value point.

I do not see how Barrie would get anything more than this?
He's a UFA next year, and does not sound like he has any interest in signing withthe Leafs.
This trade is wishful thinking, as I agree I do not believe they will move him right now.
Do you think they are going to just let him walk then or what would they offier him?

They would just rather let him walk than do a bad valued trade. Barrie is one of the most productive Dmen in last 3/4 seasons and suddenly it all disappears? No. Its there. Just needs different usage. He was like 4th forward with Avs and he is more back with Leafs and he is not fit for that role. They will try to get him going. He can score a lot without PPs, but he needs right usage. He is elite at reading offensive roles and chances. they should let him be that. Now paired with Dermott, he would have more security with faster Dmen as his left shot partner. They are not trading him.

I would like to see him be on that PP instead of Reilly, as he is a good shooting option. BUt with Babcock as coach, I do not see his role changing, why I am hoping to get something for him rather than him just being brutal all year and walking away.

I know for one that CGY would try to get barrie for brodie. Which is better since Brodie is effective defensive defenseman.

I have to disagree with you on this one. It's a good trade for both teams. Either Barrie continues to play the way he has and we don't want to re-sign him or he returns to the player we all know he can be and we can't afford him. This trade would give us a chance to see how Hamonic gels with Rielly before targeting him in FA, and it give Hammer a chance to see if TOR is a good fit for him. Also, I think Bennet would fit in nicely on our 3rd line. Why don't you like this deal besides selling low on Barrie?

The player says, "Its just not going great right now." And you hear, he has no intentions of signing. Who said anything about contract talks? He's not been playing well, I am sure even he has no intentions of talking about that stuff now. Just take a breath and relax.

Well first off they do not have Cap space to sign him to what they say he wants and actually have 6 NHL playable Dman. The contract talk comes into play in the trade, and why they would trade him. You must Know Barrie personally though to know that's not true.

You acquired Barrie, Kerfoot and 6rd pick for Kadri, Rosen and a 3rd. Say Kerfoot value was Rosen and a 6rd pick, then Barrie value Kadri and a 3rd. Barrie value was low when traded because he can't play defense, see his minus 49 over last two seasons, sure he had 116pts in that span but when you factor in the -49. He is no better than a dman who gets 35pts a season.

I like Bennett and would move him for Kapanen. add a 4th or 5th pick from Calgary and it's a solid deal. Bennett is 23 and under term for next season. He would be like adding another Hyman.
I don't know where I would move but hopefully for a dman who plays contact and blocks shots.

I do not know him, nor do I pretend to.
