Don't see the Leafs having a treat in swapping Kapenen for Miller, maybe Montour

Montour's value is much higher than Kapanens

Miller has been a healthy scratch for the last few games, and was acquired for the 2nd and a 5th in the offseason. If the Leafs wanted him, they would have paid that price then.

This is an emphatic No. Come on.

It's just not, same age, same contract, different positions, think 1 tier below the Hall and Larrson trade, no one's doing that 1 for 1 winger for D man, whoever gets the winger would win that trade

not even in the same region at hall for Larsson. Buffalo had to give up a 1st and a b prospect for Montour, why give him up for someone who's been only ok this year. Kapanen is good but he's not worth a cheap top 4 d

Except that him being a health scratch means absolutely nothing with the backlog on d and so many games in so few days.

The reason the sabres got him for that was because Vegas was in desperate need for cap room so they couldn't take a player back.

You do realize giving up a 1st and a b prospect is like giving up a 20% chance that the 1st becomes a serviceable NHL player and b prospect equals a bottom 9 AHL player

you have to admit kapanen is worth at least a 1st. so the value is definitely not far off.

He's not worth a first. He's worth about what miller's worth which was a 2nd and (I believe 5th)

Sometimes need out weighs true value...Gusev went for a 2nd and 3rd, all the GM's on here wanted their team to trade for him. Kapanen is more proven but probably an equal talent minus the age factor. Toronto and Buffalo are at a point where they need to make moves or chance letting the season slip away, especially in Buffalo's case.

To this point Tyson Barrie hasn't worked out for Toronto, he's a UFA after this year and there is talk of Toronto possibly trading him so this trade upgrades the Toronto defense, Miller is signed 2 yrs past this year and it doesn't effect Toronto's cap for the future. Buffalo gets a RW'er that is sorely needs. Both teams benefit. As for Miller being sat I think it is a matter of rotating some of the D because of the quantity on the roster.
