I was reading Don Cherry's book and he wrote that Chris Simon's suspension (he missed a total of 55 games) were unfair because he didn't cause the opposition to miss time with any significant injury. To me, maybe it's debatable that his suspensions were a little long, but everyone knows that he had intent. What'd you folks think of this?
It's a shame that some very talented players think they have to hurt each other to stay in the pros. On Adam Oates' line, Simon was a thirty goal scorer. But then his attitude got him in trouble and he wound up right back in a goon role.

Well, Adam Oates was one of the greatest playmakers of all time. He even might have been better than Nicklas Backstrom! Simon had a short temper, like most of us. But he always did things to the extreme which got him in trouble and gave him the reputation of a dirty player. However, as Don Cherry said, "Everyone of those guys he went after was a pest and they deserved to be gone after."
