I tried toying around with a bunch of stuff. Forcing myself not allowed to touch: A: Any player that has signed a contract within the last 18 months with TOR and/or has been acquired in the past 6 Months and this is what i came up with. I toyed around with a Muzzin trade but i don't see a fit anywhere that fits long term needs for TOR.

Why do you disagree with the changes i made to TORs defence? Hunts underlying numbers are actually really really good, and since hes on MIN for only 700k over 2 years MIN can actually retain 50% TOR only has 350k against the cap for 2 years with him being an UFA after. Thus MIN retaining only 350k could upgrade them what would normally be a 4-5th pick at the TDL into a 3rd or even 2nd if TOR feels forced enough

Leafs may catch fire under new guidance and a new system, but I still don't think they have the pieces to take down Boston. I think it would take a significant move to change that up, and that may require moving a significant piece. As far as I am concerned, with Babcock gone, Dubas is firmly in the hot seat and if this team doesn't make the playoffs, or even if they make the playoffs but lose in the first round, I am not sure Dubas has more than a year left at his post. Up to this point, I would grade Dubas a C+, and the plus is only given because he had a firm hand in getting the Marlies the Calder Cup.

See i dont see Dubas being on the Hot seat this year. I think TOR making the playoffs this year would be considered a success. The Leafs are in free fall and a new coach no matter whom it is is not going to instantly solve all their issues. Next year however is a different story and id be interested to see what happens.

As soon as the coach goes, the target gets moved to the GM. Just how it seems to go, at least in the NHL. Babcock was never Dubas' preferred guy, who is clearly Keefe. So now that Keefe is the Leafs' coach, there's really no more excuses as far as this club goes. They have a pretty good looking roster, barring injuries, which again, I don't think removes the target from Dubas. I think Dubas almost acquires the hot seat now that Babcock is gone, because he's the next in line as a scapegoat for the Leafs' problems. I mean there is a chance he pulls off a blockbuster mid-season, but I would call that feeling the pressure, more than anything else. I think there is also an issue of succession. Who would succeed Dubas if he were let go? There is obviously more opportunity in the off-season for this sort of stuff, but I am just not sure where the Leafs would go next, should they continue this downward trajectory.
