Classic General Manager Rob Blake

Created by: ZiggyPalffy
Team: 2019-20 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 20, 2019
Published: Nov. 20, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is what Blake does. Signs low end guys in free agency then either trades them or places them on waivers. Mario Kempe is one of the leading scorers for the Reign and an experienced player at the NHL and AHL levels which is a good asset for a lineup filled with rookies. Plus I’m sure he’s pretty good for ticket sales. The LA King’s future in the hands of Shark-At-Heart Rob Blake truly scares me.

If Blake really is a Shark-at-heart, then he’ll trade Campbell and Toffoli to San Jose for pennies on the dollar.

Mario didn't make the NHL roster so he asked the Kings to terminate his contract so he could pursue a better opportunity in the KHL. In order to do that, he has to be put on unconditional waivers first. Not sure why this decision is a knock on Blake, as it is clearly what the player wanted.

I wasn’t aware of that part of the story. It doesn’t change anything I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before he puts Frk on waivers. It’s the same old story with Blake. The only thing worse than a GM that makes bold risky moves and fails is a GM who doesn’t do anything. Just give it time. This offseason coming up you will see Blake’s true colors as a GM.
