It never hurts to bring back an old fan favorite. Even though he might not get a lot of games this year, Brouwer is still a serviceable 4th line/extra forward on a team that could use one. Yeah this means a prospect goes to the minors most likely, but another season of development is good for the rookies.

As long as he is a true 14th forward and doesn't play over the kids on a regular basis, this is a good signing. Never hurts to have a good 14th forward, especially one who knows the organization.

More than serviceable imo he should solidify the bottom line until Steen gets back.
