Minor Moves

Created by: AnalyticsGeek
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 21, 2019
Published: Nov. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
After the hiring of Sheldon Keefe, we should not expect any major changes. However, I do believe one move is possible. The team will call up Rasmus Sandin and/or Timothy Liljegren to play in place of Cody Ceci. As the former coach of the Marlies, we have to expect for Keefe to be use players from the farm to help provide depth from the team.

Doubtful for Sandin, hes already used his maximum games without using an RFA year

Rasmus Sandin is trash. The guy can't skate and is always turning the puck away.

Still has 3 games left. It wouldn’t be wise to burn a year of his elc to have him play bottom pair minutes with the lhd depth we have.

Those 3 games should be saved in case of injury

Me personally would love to see an attempt at Nylander at #3 C with Kerfoot on the LW side of Mathews. I would be very interested in seeing the fruit of a lineup of

Kerfoot-Mathews-Marner
Hyman-Tavares-Kapanen
Johnsson-Nylander-Timashov
Mikhelev-Goat-Moore

I think Nylander has played great this year and his ability to run his own line might be interesting to see the results of
Gives 3 Scoring lines & 1 "Shutdown" 4th

I would save them for the last 3 games of the season and rest Rielly. If sandin continues to impress he stays in for the playoffs.... yeah that’s right.., I said playoffs. Still believe that leafs and flames will both be there lol.

Probably, Flames are just in a massive slump, they have one of the worst goals per shot ratios in the league atm thwy will probably change something. Both teams are struggling a lot with injuries too.

Toronto is in an odd spot, Dubas has bo more scapegoats now so if they continue to struggle he will be in the hot seat and have his hand forced somewhere. In theory the team should be strong though

let's not break up matthews and nylander, the only consistent line we've had this year.

Nylander and Matthews stay together. Leafs have plenty of C depth. Tavares and Matthews line need to see 20min of ice time minimum. Would like to see them both at about 22min
