Malkin has won the Hart, Lindsey, Art Ross and Conn Smythe. And he did that in the Crosby-Ovechkin era.

Malkin IMO is the 2nd best player in this generation behind Crosby. The only thing with Malkin is you can question his motivation at times

3rd best for me after Ovechkin. We have to keep in mind Ovechkin was such an explosive, fast and dominant player in his prime who could score goals. Although I definitely think Malkin is better than Kane. Better offensive stats, awards etc.

Malkin is also 8 years older then Gaudreau and fading. Gaudreau is in his prime, just in a drought.
