Not really, Flames downgrade up front significantly for a rental on the blue line that might not even be a upgrade

This trade is far from the best CGY could do if they put Gaudreau on the market. That Barrie piece holds very, very little value because Treliving isn't going to pay him the $7-8M AAV that he'll want (and probably get) in UFA.

But if 7-8M was the number, I don't see why it couldn't happen.
Frolik & Brodie will both be gone which opens up enough right there.
