CBJ Trade

Created by: dougdurant
Team: 2019-20 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 21, 2019
Published: Nov. 21, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bjorkstrand makes alot of sense, would play well in our system and slot in perfectly on the third line and on a very cheap contract for the next 2 years. Yes, Wilde might have a high ceiling, but he's probably not in the line up til 21-22 and playing RD3 minutes behind Pulock and Dobson if we lose Mayfield and there's Bolduc in the farm as well. Plus we get to dump Uncle Leo's contract. I dunno if the third is necessary but **** it.

Can't see the Blue Jackets doing this, and I can't see them making a trade within the division.

No way the Isles do this. Komarov can be bought out, there is no reason to attach a high ceiling D prospect that will likely be ready next season to get a guy who's another 3rd line player. Plus next season that 3 RW spot is Wahlstroms, no need to put someone there to block him.

Columbus has no desire in Wilde. For that reason this is a no from them.

Wilde ready next season? Yeah i doubt that, especially with our logjam at RD. He's the most valuable piece we can afford to trade.

And is Wahlstrom not going to be in the top 6? Is Brassard signed to an extension? Maybe if i'm Lou I consider it if he finishes north of 40 points. 3 year/10 Mil or something like that but
this team really needs to get younger.
