Take out the first and Barrie and that could be a done deal from pens side. I think Addison is more then ready to become a permanent RD to replace schultz. Although the deal with barrie is unlikely to happen. Pens really would not wanna give up a first and Jarry for Nylander and guy they cant afford in the offseason. Maybe if the first is a second it could be done. Although i see no reason for leafs to do any of the two trades i said with the mentioned players

I've said it before and I will say it again.
The Gudbranson/JJ saga has been obscuring the fact that Schultz isn't any good.
Even with that the trade is pretty bad in general.

Im a Pens fan and I say .... Yes we will take another RW cast off and win Back to back Cups again.
LOL, Just joking with ya....

But Seriously I think GMJR values Jarry wayyyy more than most think & IMO He is a legit NHL Starter who just keeps getting better and I have a really hard time seeing him trade him, but for this I would pause tho.

This is true, schultz is as offensive minded as a defensmen come these days. But he could be a big add if he is paired with the right LD.

Love the large sample size, and that Schultz has been quite a bit better than Barrie every year of their careers other than last year where he was hurt for the majority of it

I don't think this would get you Barrie and Kapanen, definitely not Nylander.

Isn't that what we said with Barrie?

I can't tell if this is a sarcastic dismissal or not, but I will refer you to the Barrie trade where I explicitly say I am low on Barrie.

Thats what i mean, i dont think the leafs are putting the correct defensemen with Barrie. Idk enough to know if the leafs have that kind of a D or not so may have to acquire one or call one up or move one in the pairings

Considering what we are giving up here, the upside being a big maybe is a instant no from the Leafs considering we are giving up the guy who has been the most consistently good player on the Leafs this year.

Remember Kerfy was a huge part of the reason why that trade went through. There isn't a Kerfy in this trade.

There is nothing wrong with Barrie and he is paired with Muzzin, Babs just figured Muzz should move the puck while Barrie stays home, very good reason why Babs is now a spectator until the sharks get fed up and hire him

Youre not wrong, i am totally not arguing that you should do this trade. If you look at my first comment i say that there is no reason for the leafs to do a trade like that.

You know, Babcock actually might be a good coach for the sharks. A physical and gritty team, with vets and young guys who might adjust well to babcocks playing style
