Playing 4th line 8 minutes a game for someone with top 6 potential isn't much of a shot either...

Kostin

I'm saying Kostin isn't getting a shot so that's why I'm confused. Are you saying someone else who's in the lineup deserves more time than him?

I'm saying that if he got a shot and was just put on the 4th line that's not really a real shot. Minimum minutes won't help him much. Can he play LW?

That's what I was saying too. The thing about Kostin is he's much more effective on the RW. So for me, even putting him on the 3rd line with Thomas is giving him not only a shot at some 12 to 14 minutes, but also gives him the opportunity to build chemistry with a young center who is his age and can be linemates for a long time. Put Sundqvist as the 4th line center and de la Rose on the wing.

Yeah I suppose with Tarasenko out, there will be some opportunity at RW.

Y'all forget he is 20 years old. He can be conditioned still in the AHL and still make a huge impact next year.

He could be. However, in the games he's played he has looked fantastic. He's creating opportunities for the other 4th line guys, using his size to his advantage. Needs to work on his stamina a little bit but it's hard to do that when you only get 7 minutes a game despite looking like one of the better ones on the ice.

Sending him back isn't the worst thing, but when you look around at who is getting the NHL minutes instead of him, it is a lot more puzzling to me. De La Rose has hardly touched the puck since he came over, Brouwer hasn't played an NHL game since March, MacEachern doesn't bring anything that Sunny/Barby don't already bring. I'd rather give Klim some freedom/minutes and see what happens right now. Blais and Steen should be the ones to bump him out of a spot, not Brouwer and DLR.
