What makes folks think Miller is better than Ceci? Pens probably want the security of DeSmith instead of pretty meaningless pick which may/may not help four years from now.

Hyman is a better RD than miller and makes less.

Miller can blow hot and cold; he's been in and out of the doghouse in three different cities. It would be Buffalo that would have to add a pick, and a good one, to make this exchange palatable for Toronto.

I hate the thought of carrying Miller for another two years past this season at 3.875m. I'll still with Ceci and have cap freedom next summer.

Which is why I couldn't understand for the life of me why so many leaf fans wanted to trade for him in the off-season. Just because a defenseman is right-handed doesn't mean they're good.

I’ve been sitting on this one overnight but if the leafs want a solid RD on an expiring deal maybe they try talking to Vancouver about Troy Stecher. I know his name came up on insider trading about a month ago but I’m unsure on what his status is at the current moment.

Stecher is an RFA so it's not the classic "expiring deal", so he will cost a premium since he has few controllable years. I see so many of these RHD trades, but how much better are the players coming to Leafs compared to Barrie, Ceci and Holl...especially if those three start playing competently to their potential under Keefe.
