Richard has not been very good this year and pick is 2 years away, nothing in this deal helps a team in the process of a rebuild in the near future. Sorry if AA is traded it will be for better, or he will be staying in Detroit.

from what I've seen on here, not many trade offers for him are giving up a 1st round pick - so I thought that even though it is 2021, that's better than some I've seen. Could reconsider the deal to be 2 2020 seconds then, maybe even a 2020 1st. I'd just like the preds to keep the 2020 1st if possible.

Oilers probably can’t trade that 3rd round pick because we will most likely have to use it on the Neal trade.

didn't realize it was tied to that trade -- I think he would do well with the oilers though. maybe two 4ths or a 3rd next year and a 7th or something, some change around the picks but still that basic deal - player for pick(s)

The Wings have no need to move AA, so they aren't selling to the highest bidder like you would a rental. The Wings probably have a price in mind for what it would take to trade AA and either someone meets that price or the Wings happily keep him.

I think you're paying too much for AA, and selling much too low on Smith. Goal scorers command a premium at the deadline. Preds could get a 2nd + decent prospect for him.

you're probably right here -- I'd just be happy with a 2nd for him if they can get it

We don't want either of those scrubs.

Trenin has 16 points in 13 AHL games so far this season and looks like he could turn into a solid middle 6 player + 2 2nd round picks + a player to make the numbers work on a 2 year deal. Sure Santini may not be the best, but Trenin is not a scrub and 2 2nds is nothing to balk at as if it is insulting.

Again, who off of this roster would you want for Palmieri?

They got a 2nd, a solid prospect in Jarnkrok, and a scrub in Eaves for Legwand. Leggy was 34 at the time, and not as prolific a goal scorer as Smith. I can't see Smith returning less than that.

lol very good point - I really wanted Leggy to end his career in NSH, but he got us a great player in Jarnkrok. Maybe Smith can still do the same!

It isn't insulting, and we don't want Santini back, but that deal isn't worth a 30 goal scorer. And I'd want one of Ellis or Ekholm.

Not going to happen yeah AA started slow but has 11 points in his last 11 games and Yzerman likes AA so he won't be traded just to be traded. I've also seen a lot of trades for AA and only one that would actually happen. Now your first rd pick this year isn't a lottery pick so you'd probably have to add to it like Fabbro or Tolvanen.

Wow! I see that Wings fans value AA highly, but a lottery pick, or 2020 1st plus a top prospect for an unsigned AA? That's way too much for a guy with only one good season under his belt so far.

Yes he is unsigned but he is an RFA.

I have absolutely no idea. In his first 11 games 3 points and in his last 11 games he has 11 points. Thinking about it I was wrong at this point he isn't worth a 1st and a top prospect. AA did hold out a couple of seasons ago but Yzerman reached out to him in the off season to say he wants AA to be part of the Wings moving forward and his holdout isn't a factor since it was under old management. I'm almost positive he won't be traded until the TDL if he gets traded at all. He did have 30 goals last season and is still one of the fastest players in the league and you just want to be absolutely sure before you trade him.

Tough to say. AA is more proven, but Pulju seems to have a higher ceiling. Personally, I'd rather have AA on my team.
