Galchenyuk for Miller

Created by: Pipinghotgatorade
Team: 2019-20 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 22, 2019
Published: Nov. 22, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Helps with Buffalo's defensive logjam and gives the Pens a replacement for Schultz so he can either be a trade chip at the deadline or just allowed to walk in FA after this year. Not sure if anything needs added from either side with Galchenyuk being a UFA after this year and Miller signed, but I think the base could make sense for both teams.

Has Galchenyuk's potential ever dropped. Would love for Montreal to pick him up in FA to try and improve the PP. That's really the only thing he is good at.

Well at this point I'll be shocked if the Pens re-sign him so there's a good chance he'll be available. But there's still time for him to turn it around in Pitt. They've barely played any games with a full lineup and won't any time soon. I don't know if they'll give up on him as quickly as I have, but he just hasn't shown me anything for more than a couple shifts at a time.

The key piece in the Kessel trade was actually POJ. Galchenyuk was never expected to replace Kessel's production.

I don't know if Bergevin would have any interest in chucky because of his "problem", but I'd like to see him as a 3rd line player instead of throwing him on the top line and expecting him to produce.

Hey when you put it like that it sounds bad. Let's say it's a guy with no goals and 6 assists for a dman that had 41 points pretty recently. That sounds better.

POJ

Yeah. Post Office Joe will hopefully grow into a solid player. It would be nice if Galchenyuk could mesh with anyone on the team and help out though.

I don't see that happening. Unless you throw him on the 4th line and give him 1st line Powerplay time, he's most likely going to drag down the team.

Obviously you didn't watch him in Junior. He was one of the best players in the league for 2 years. It's still early in his Pro career. We shall see.
