Personally idk those name too well in that mtl trade but I doubt they do that trade (unless I’m completely mistaken). I think they’d rather keep Tatar for their top 6 depth or move him for like 1 solid asset (like a first or close to it) (from what I’ve seen MTL fans discuss in the past).

easy no from mtl. just because they're french canadian, doesn't mean mtl is gonna trade one of thier top scorers. for him. plus tatar easily goes for a first rd pick to start with

Olivier is a bit of a bruiser, bottom 6 - but allard is a solid d prospect doing well in the ahl right now. I also thought the French Canadian connection might work here lol

Philly has no need for Granlund. You can have Braun for pick(s) though. Hagg perhaps?

If you end up trading a voracek or van riemsdyk or someone, was thinking granlund could be a good short term replacement and resign him if he sticks

Voracek I’d imagine stays due to contract. JVR at this point I would listen to offers for. He’s currently on our 4th line and hasn’t played well. That being the case we have cheaper fourth line options on the Phantoms if he’s moved.

Current line up

Giroux/Frost/Konecny
Lindblom/Coots/Voracek
Laughton/Hayes/Farabee
JVR/Raffl/Pitlick

Patrick-LTIR
Stewart-popcorn duty

Well you could argue pretty easily that the initial Vegas trade was an overpay - you're right though that it would make more sense for his current production than that Vegas trade

Damn, sad seeing JVR struggling - always seemed like a good guy. And lol "popcorn duty". What about a trade like Voracek with a little retention + Braun for Granlund + 1st + prospect? Or something involving those pieces?

So....

Voracek
Braun

For

Granlund
2020 first
Prospect

Would depend on the prospect. I’d also probably flip Granlund if I could. Braun’s gone after this season and if I could turn Jake into a first,Prospect and cap space I’d consider it.

He looks like a middle 6 player probably but has 16 points in 13 ahl games so far this season

Your offer for Tatar is more quantity than quality. And it is all assets MTL already have: 2nd rounds, bottom 6 and RHD prospect. MTL could find better offers around the league.

1.5 years (2 playoffs runs) of Tatar is going to cost you at least a first and/or an offensive winger prospect.

Our top 6 hole is much smaller than the hole ekholm would leave if we traded him

Just out score your defensive issues like the Oilers are doing right now.

Montreal doesn't really need depth prospects in any positions or fair 2nd round picks. If they were to trade Tatar, it starts with an Elite prospect or a good 1st round pick.

I couldn't see Tatar getting less than what Pacioretty got TBH. We traded Pacioretty was at an all-time low and Tatar's value is pretty high right now.
