Teams need all their NHL Dmen, especially teams that hope to make playoffs. Only way I would trade Benning (he is regular) if the Oilers were to receive immediate help....not prospects.

Agree - trading Benning is something you do in June.

See I think it makes sense to move him at the tdl tbh, Jones, Manning, Laggesson, Persson are all capable of rotating next to Russell. Preferabbly someone else who is going to be an rfa or someone with term because like you said they need help now. But I think Bennings value will be lowered at the draft in comparison to while he can play for a team now. to resign him is probably going to be about 2 million which isn't alot, but like I said I think th previous lsited defencemen can do the same job. I'd move one of those listed but Benning has the most value, well him or Jones

It might make sense to trade Benning for a 3C in Edmonton's case.

At the deadline you mean? Yes, I could see that working if all the D are healthy... Bouchard might be ready to play 3RD by then too.

Edit: Benning + Puljujarvi could bring back a decent player.

I bet you anything that Pageau will re-sign with Ottawa. He's a hometown hero there since he's from there and has played so well there over the years. Tierney would be more affordable long-term.

Kinda wish Ryan Strome was within reach.
