NSH Shakeup

Created by: ItWasIn
Team: 2019-20 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 23, 2019
Published: Nov. 23, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
CGY
  1. Forsberg, Filip
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Gaudreau instantly becomes one of the best offensive players in Preds history, right up there with Kariya and P. Forsberg.

Forsberg doesn't have the credentials that Gaudreau has, but IMO he is just as skilled, search videos of his puckhandling. He plays with a bit of snarl, shows up in the postseason, and I think he could really pop like Lindholm did.

CGY and NSH both has high expectations this year and both are really struggling and could maybe use a change

Did you originally mean this Team Explanation to apply to a Colorado construction, because that's who I remember Paul Kariya and Peter Forsberg playing for?

So to me it would seem the flames need scoring. Not to takeaway from Forsberg as I think very highly of him too, but seems counterproductive to move Gaudreau then since based on the second im assuming we're saying gaudreau is the better scorer

So stack the 1st line make the team overall less? Flames probably pass.
They need to add a C or RW without subtracting from top 6.

How is Forsberg struggling? 15 points in 15 games with 9 goals

Yeah, makes sense. But I don't think trading Forsberg is the answer to the Preds woes, even if you get Gaudreau out of it

Agreed, If were them I'd explore trading Granlund for a forward of similar role but just someone new

I agree, or a top 4 d to help with penalty kill duties and not tire out ellis/josi so much

I think Fabbro and Ekholm just need to step up and they will, in the playoffs to me it's always been a spotty couple games by Rinne or an inability to score

Just not the type of D we need I don't think and would be a pure rental - need a reliable defender. I've seen galchenyuk for granlund floated around on here and I'd consider that

Who would you be looking for on defense

Maybe Braun, Brodie, Gudas, Bogosian, Miller, maybe Merrill -- someone who can play 4/5 D and won't be too expensive to trade for
