Makes sense. It looks like Laval will have a lot of rookie forwards next year, and this could help lighten the load a bit. I wouldn’t be surprised if the habs trade one of their 2018 drafted forwards (Hillis, McShane, Fonstad, Gorniak, Stapley) in a deal similar to this for a defenseman. (I didn’t include Olofsson because he was a 2nd round pick, although I personally wouldn’t hesitate to move him. I also didn’t mention Houde because he’s tearing it up, and is from Quebec).
