Ideas for Forward prospects

Description
I feel like we should definitely use some draft capital this year to get some top forward prospects. However I also think it might be a good idea to trade for some as well. We have a strong defensive pipeline and this trades are to even things out a bit.

1.
CHI
  1. Boqvist, Jesper
  2. 2020 4th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
I like Kubalik, but you gotta give something up right?
NJD
  1. Krys, Chad
  2. Kubalik, Dominik
Additional Details:
We’re trading youngish forward Kubalik and LD prospect Chad Krys for Boqvists brother. He is a good prospect outright, but hopefully NJD sees this as a better now/in the future deal.
2.
CHI
  1. Poehling, Ryan
Additional Details:
I don’t know how high MTL is on Poehling, but I’m still rather high on Beaudin to become a steady NHL defensman. Honestly I would rather put in Gus or Vlasic into this trade but I don’t think MTL would be as interested.
MTL
  1. Beaudin, Nicolas
Additional Details:
Remember we aren’t doing every trade in here, just throwing out some ideas.
3.
CHI
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Sikura is playing well in RFD, and I think he could fit well on a line with RNH and Neal. Jesse is perplexing, I can’t get a good read on what edm could want for him (which the hawks could provide) in a trade from now to the first.

Anyways he is a young forward and fits the bill.
EDM
  1. Barratt, Evan [Reserve List]
  2. Sikura, Dylan

Doubt we sell on Gus this deadline.

I would personally rank them in order of preference: Tampa, ND, Montreal and Edm

My thinking with Puljujarvi is his trading value has obviously declined. Holland is playing the waiting game hoping Puljujarvi’s value improves. From what I read Puljujarvi may choose to stay the whole year in Finland. That could be the best scenario for the Oilers.

Whatever Holland thinks Puljujarvi’s value is worth, he is not getting it. I think it might be situation where Puljujarvi is part of a package, maybe coming at TDL, as the Oilers are playing exceptional, and haven’t miss a beat with his absence. He would be an excellent chip when the Oilers acquire depth players in their playoff run.

The December 1st deadline for Puljujarvi’s return to the NHL is approaching, so this story will unfold more. Holland holds the cards. There is no rush for him to make a deal.

I think that even if Jp wanted to return the best thing for his career would be to spend the year in europe. Because of that I think that takes a bunch of teams out of the picture to trade away a roster player ie WPG or CAR who I would say are two front runners. I think he will be traded at the draft most likely, I think maybe WPG for Lowry and a third

I mean... it’s not something that I want to happen. It’s something I see as likely however.

I actually kind of like that Poehling for Beaudin trade. Montreal tried so hard to trade up and select him in the draft. Poehling is good, but Montreal has a surplus of quality center prospects and an empty shelf of defensemen in that category.

Poehling would just add to our slow big centres we already have tbh.

While Poehling isn't exactly known for his speed, his hockey IQ and defensive skill makes up for it.

It's not like he's slow, his skating just isn't Elite

Very true though we have centres similar in the elk of Strome and Dach and with taking him at number 3 I don't think we would go after another in a similar style.

In saying all this I do like Poehling game I just don't think the hawks would make a trade for him.
