Chris Johnston mentioned it in 2nd intermission of Leafs-Avs game. I trust him tbh.

Did they say this specific deal? Cuz I'm thinking maybe they're scouting for a Marner trade.

Did they say this specific deal? Cuz I'm thinking maybe it's Marner for Parayko, which means the Blues are still getting robbed.

No specifics and that wouldn’t happen though considering that Marner makes double Parayko

There’s no way the Blues can afford Marner and it’s equally unlikely the Leafs trade him

Nylander is the odd man out of Toronto. If you suggest Nylander for Faulk I could see that in value.

Nylander is playing so good though, he's on pace for 62 points. The majority of Leaf fans consider him to be better than Marner.

I never said they were equal. I think skill-wise, Marner is a little bit better but Guentzel scores more goals and is only making 6 million therefore his value is higher.

you're really starting to lose your credibility on here with all of your Marner hate. I as a leafs fan, am not his biggest fan by any stretch, but "the majority of leafs fans consider Nylander better" is ridiculous. Nylander may be on pace for 62, but MARNER SCORED 94 points last season. he's better than guentzel- three years younger putting up 20 more points playing the same position, and guentzel plays with the best all around player of the generation every night- and when crosby's out, he has to settle for evgeni malkin! I don't like marner half as much as other fans, but you've gotta give credit where its due- he may be overpaid by a mil or two right now, but he hasn't shown any significant signs of slowing his growth down, and as far as I'm concerned right now, if he continues his trajectory and the cap continues to rise, this will not be half as big an overpay as it may seem now. In the back half of the last year that he spent playing with bozak, he actually kept up with the scoring pace that he carried into last season, before you make the whole Tavares carries him argument- it certainly doesn't hurt to play with him, but they both raise each other up, while Crosby turns Ahl players/4th line nhl players into 40+ point scorers in his sleep

You are right with your analysis on Marner, but I don't hate him. In fact, he's my favourite player after Crosby and Malkin. But right now he's just not worth what you think he's worth.

ok well right now he's worth more than you think he's worth. that trade where you gave scrubs and a 2021 first for him yesterday was atrocious. you also said that the leafs have been better without Marner, despite dropping 6 of their last 8, and that Nylander is better despite the fact that he's on pace for 32 fewer points than Marner scored in his last fully healthy season (last year). he's not on the block. I would bet all my money that he's not the one that leafs are trying to shop to St. Louis. and if he does get traded, the leafs only do it if they get a star back- whether that be a quality young top pairing defenceman, or a young winger like tkachuk who is on the same calibre but maybe plays a different style that they are looking for- not saying he's worth more than tkachuk by any stretch, but thats a much closer ball park than that rust+pettersson+2021 first you put out yesterday. you're not going to get him by trading scrubs and B level futures

I know stats aren't everything but Faulk.....six points, all assists and a minus five. Gee the much maligned Ceci has a a goal and three assists and is plus five. Leafs keep the superior Ceci (and Johnsson) and let the Blues enjoy the 6.5m X7 of Faulk starting next year.
