Team Explanation
I know everyone is going to piss and cry at the Parayko trade, but I would just say this: Why did they sign Faulk long-term?? Do you really think that they are going to let Pietrangelo walk?? Sorry to have to break this news to you like this, but Parayko is obviously going to get traded.

Blues heavily decline. Parayko is like the best right-handed defenseman in the league after Jones and Carlson.

Yeah blues decline they'd ask for drai we would say no. No trades would work between the two

Do you think that they will let Pietrangelo walk?

I think they are more likely to resign him than Faulk.

Well...Faulk was resigned already, 6.5 mil a year for 7 years.

My mistake, I think it will be tough keeping Pietrangelo but he may want to stay.

I think this is a pretty accurate assessment. There were all those rumors two years ago about Parayko and Drai but Drai is practically untradeable now and Parayko is closing in on that title. I just don't think there's good match. Maybe a Petro rental?

Dude you're not getting Parayko for that hot trash, Try more like Draisaitl and then some.

Get a grip guys. Draisaitl is a franchise center who is on pace for 150 points this year on a long-term value contract. Parayko is an excellent second pairing RHD who is paid 5.5m, quite a bit for a second pairing defense man (unless you are San Jose). A cheaper second pairing RHD plus high draft picks is more than fair. Face it, Pietrangelo won St. Louis the Cup and is the team captain. They are not going to let him walk.

Ok, so I'll give you this - lets say this IS Armstrong's play if he can get Pietrangelo signed long term to a team-friendly deal. But if that makes Parayko - a right-handed defense-oriented defenseman - redundant, why would they be interested in taking Adam Larsson - a right-handed defense-oriented defenseman - in return?

He's cheaper. Of course they need 3 RHD, but most likely they will not be 3 high-priced ones. That's my only point.

It saves them $1.3M for one year, then they have to re-sign him. Benning would probably be more useful to them if they need a 3RD.

Me too!

Edit: I think he's overrated though, and the ask would be way more than I'm willing to pay. Some defense challenged GM will overpay, I don't see that being the Oilers though as they have more than enough defensemen and more on the way.
