Really? I think he'd be the Leafs best Defenceman, and locked up for 3 years at a very reasonable number. They're just giving up a little more than what the Devils gave to get him

I think the Leafs just need to promote Sandman and not worry about Subban. I think Subban would be more of a distraction for the Leafs team.

Yes if watching goals get pumped into your net is a distraction than Subban would certainly be one.

As someone who watches every Devils game, he honestly has been pretty good. If his coach could actually give him a consistent partner to play with, he would probably be even better. I would say he has been the Devils second best D-man so far this season.

Subban thinks of himself as more of a celebrity than an hockey player and a result is more interested in PR work than playing hockey.

Subban is probably the most polarizing player in the NHL. He does make your team better and, at times, is an elite dman. But why does he keep getting traded? Think about dmen he would be compared to as far as production and salary. You dont see those guys getting moved

He’s been traded as many times as Gretzky, just some food for thought.

I think in Montreal there had to be some type of rift to result in getting moved for an older, and IMO worse player with a longer contract, but I think from Nashville it was purely because he was the most expensive D-man, and they had Fabbro ready, and they wanted to allocate cap to Duchene because the need for a C was greater than the need for a RHD

As someone who watches the Devils, do you think this trade proposal would be worth it for them?

Apologies for the late response. Honestly, not sure if it works for either team. If NJ trades Subban, they likely want a D-Man better than Ceci. Also, I think Toronto is giving a lot in 2 seconds, Johnsson, and Bracco. Comparing this trade to Subban to NJ, NJ gave them 2 seconds, Davies (Decent Prospect), and Santini (AHL D-Man that occasionally plays NHL). Granted, NJ did take all 9 mil of Subban's contract, which means NJ can get more value if they retain Subban's contract in a trade, however, I think the value is a little too much going back to NJ. And i think NJ would prefer a D-Man as the centrepiece of the trade coming back to them
