Why don't CAR fans trade for a goalie more often??? They can make or break your playoffs. Ask STL fans. 19 shots against while playing a last pace DET isn't a congrats to Reimer...it's a congrats to the best defense in the entire NHL.

There will be 15 teams not in the playoffs and obviously each goalie will have a different trade price, but Henrik, Crow, Lehner, Nilson, Ullmark would all be somewhere between fairly decent upgrades to game changing upgrades to what CAR has now. CAR's defense is insanely good. I personally believe they don't need to make any other moves besides in net...and I do really want them to win the cup.

Henrik Crow or Lehner would be nice, OTT likely isn't trading Nilson, just from what I've seen on here at least, and ULLmark isn't much of an upgrade, and definitely not worth the cost, I saw a Sabres fan that said they wouldn't trade him for Hall, and a lot of them agreed... plus we don't have cap

Goalie markets tend to be quite inelastic because they are like analytical voodoo. There’s a ton of options out there that look good on paper but are actually just smoke-and-mirrors. Teams tend to just stand pat in the end.

i agree with you. Do you think it's more so because the cost for good goalies are too high...meaning the seller is pricing themselves out of a trade? OR do you think the skills that support the goalie aren't easily transferrable from 1 team to another...meaning that the buyers aren't willing to pay the price because the perception is that they won't get THAT level of goalie on their team? Again, I agree 100% that TDL trades for starting goalies are NOT common, but also curious as to the reasons behind the decisions. It just seems like teams are willing to trade for backups for more likely than starters.
