Kase averages out to a 40pt winger. If this what a 40pt winger fetches, Boston should shop Danton Heinen.

What about a prospect like Bjork or something and a 2nd rounder for Josh Anderson

Why would CBJ do it? They'd be selling low on Anderson (whose having arguably his worst season). I don't see a trade for Anderson that makes sense consider Boston is tight with cap. I also remember Anderson being a pain to sign last time and I imagine if he has a down season it'll be worse.

I’d rather his teammate Rakell. But really to me the best target is Alex Tuch.

I dont think you can get Tuch without Brandon Carlo included. If I was Vegas id ask for a 1 for 1.

Agreed. And i would not do Carlo. But i’d try, and i’d overpay to do it.

I really don't get the fascination with Tuch. I mean he's still young at 23 so there is development to be had, but his P/GP put him around a 45 point winger. A guy like Heinen comes out to a 40pt winger, so what makes those 5 extra points that much better?

True RW, 6’4 220 with speed. 20 goal scorer. Exactly what the 2nd line has needed. And the big one. 6 years at 4.75. Good contract, long term, still ends while in his prime. Keeps cap healthy.

Not everything is about points, some players have an extra gear in the playoffs and power forwards can help score those garbage goals when you really need them. Think Pageau/Maroon, these guys aren't top 6 players necessarily but they could be the most important players that turn it up a notch and carry a playoff team

I mean, if we’re talking about guys that might not be available, I’ll take Barkov thank you very much.

Kase is cool option, but far from perfect.

oh for sure. Replacing Krejci with Barkov even if u give the next 3 1st rounders, Vaak and Studnicka, I think Boston would still win this trade

He hit 20 goals once. He had 15 the year before that and this year he's on pace for 8 goals, he's all over the place. I think the fascination people have with him is more about his "upside" than anything

He’s only played 7 games this year due to injury. Hard to put him on pace for anything.

Had 15 as a rookie with 6 more in the playoffs. 20 last year. Playing mostly 3rd line minutes. I don’t care if that is his standard year. It’s still a massive upgrade.

I don't think Kase is that "untouchable" (Anaheim would certainly trade him for Brandon DeCarlo), but your trade doesn't include the one element the Ducks need: an actual competent RD.

I dont think any team is in a position to trade RHD except for Buffalo, Isles and possibly Carolina

Mac and Carlo are not going anywhere and Boston has no other RD to offer, which is why they are going nowhere.

It's usually a first+ just to dump Backes... I don't see how this is an overpay at all for ANA's best forward

A 45 point winger is an upgrade over what? I mean I guess over anything we've thrown at RW (outside of Heinen), but that bar is so low its not hard for anything to be an upgrade.

Kase? you really think he's the best forward? You ever hear of this guy name Rakell? maybe Silfverberg? How about Getzlaf or Henrique?

Over everything B’s have thrown out there for the last 5 years trying to fix that glaring hole. He’s a better player than Heinen, Kuhlman, Bjork, Senyshyn none of whom are the long term answer to RW2. Tuch is, with a good contract. You are not fixing it in free agency this year. Certainly not at that price either. And good luck finding a long term option otherwise. I’m sure his numbers will get a bump playing more minutes and with Krejci and Debrusk as line mates as opposed to Eakin and Nosek. But again 20-50 is still far more production than they have gotten out of that slot in years. Don’t know what you think you are going to get for RW2, but it’s not going to be a 40 goal all star. Which seems to be all you are willing to do for any deal. Sorry but status quo is not going to work. But if your content with a bunch of mediocre 3rd line prospects trying to fill that void for years. So be it.

So a 45pt winger in Tuch is a long term answer to the RW, but a 40pt winger in Heinen isn't? WOW lol. I never realized those 5 points were make or break.

But he’s not replacing Heinen. Heinen stays in his 3rd line role. He’s replacing Ritchie/Seny/Kuhlman. And that is a BIG upgrade.

You just said he's better than Heinen. There is a 5pt difference in their production and so I'd disagree that he's better. My point is that Tuch is treated as some top 6 savior when in reality he's not anymore productive then a guy like Heinen.

Well, Tuch has produced more on 3rd line with Eakin and Nosek as linemates than Heinen has playing top 6 so....ya.

Sorry you are so resistant to change. ??‍♂️
