The value is there, but Montreal isn't going to make this trade.

From a value standpoint, this is a huge W for the Ducks, and a fat L for the Habs. I think you overvalue Larsson too much. Take out Juulsen and this trade seems much more fair, from again, A VALUE STANDPOINT. Not a bad deal though, Habs needed something for LD.

the goal was to get a great deal TOP6 with size in Rackell that Mtl need.. with the youth LHD MTL should be fine in 2 years with Romonov, Norlinder, Fairbrother, Leskinen

Except we have to remain somewhat competitive right now. Gotta keep Price and Weber happy. We need to keep the locker room chemistry as good as it can possibly be. Can't create a losing mentality.

The addition of Rackell would be amazing!!! even if the priority is to get a TOP LHD

I agree, but by us trading Mete and Lehkonen, it creates 2 holes and only fills 1. We are going backwards.

I don't get how this is such great value for the Ducks? So, they get a LD in Mete (They already have Fowler, Lindholm, Guhle, Mahura, and Larsson, before he's traded away in this deal), a RD in Juulsen (who's played a total of 99 professional games in the past 3 years, and a good 2 way winger in Lehkonen (Even though they've already got Rakell, Silfverberg, Ritchie, Kase, Shore, Terry, Jones with Sherwood, Lundestrom, Comtois, Morand, Olivier-Groulx, etc. waiting in the wings), and a 2nd. Apart from a HUGE question mark in Juulsen, this doesn't come close to addressing their actual need of a RHD.

I just don't get the benefit of this trade from a Ducks perspective?

I don't agree. Our system is to play fast and quick. I don't know a hole lot about Rakell, but I doubt he plays with speed (Never seen a highlight of him using his speed). We need to improve within unless we are getting the players for dirt cheap

I was just talking about the overall value both teams are getting back. Sorry if it caused confusion, but I wasn't addressing team needs. Apologies for any confusion.

Montreal can't afford to trade Petry. We have no replacement for him. Montreal needs a true quality LHD and can trade from wingers.

Hahaha, naw. I don’t think we’re a match for this trade. Rakell fits in anaheim. Petty is good, but not really the answer to the Ducks issue.

Montreal is in a hard place, because we have depth everywhere. We just need star players. Really I don't see a point in making a trade. just draft and develop them. There isn't really a position where we can trade and expect someone else to fill that role. Unless someone is willing to give us a steal, we can trade a bottom 6 forward.

You don't think with the depth we have we can't get a TOP LHD: 2021-1st + Lehkonen + Juulsen... that's a great return to any team that are rebuilding... but there is Good LHD that should cost less as well like: Leddy (Lehko +2nd or Tatar straight...?)

The package you are offering is way too big of a package for a middle of the league team. MB is very hesitant to trade any 1st round picks, let alone one that is 2 years out. Only way I see us trading our first is if we have a solid points cushion in the wildcard/division and we want to make a run. If we are going to trade futures, it's going to be a young NHL player who will be with us for a long time, not a 28 YO

you need a 1st in your package in getting a TOP LHD like: Werrenski, Hanafin, Theodore, Lindholm, Ekholm, Brodin, Nurse maybe Sergachev!
or a package like: 2nd, Lehko, Kulak for Leddy, Vatanen, Gustafsson, Zadorov, Brodie, Ghost, Murray, Fowler, Martinez,

That's why I put my trust in Bergevin. He's gotten us good players like Drouin/Domi/Tatar/Weber/Petry/Danault all while not giving up the future.

It's kind of hard to choose someone as I don't know who is available and the prices. I'll choose some teams from the bottom of the league as they are most likely the teams willing to sell.

Will Butcher
Ryan Murray
Brady Skjei
Tony DeAngelo
Jacob Larsson (he would be dirt cheap, but I don't see him as anything more than a 3rd liner)

There's tons of guys who are aged 20-24, but I doubt a ****ty team is willing to trade them as they are apart of the future.
