the amount of people that think Bortuzzo deserved 10+ games is amazing. it was a crosscheck to the back not to the face. I watched 3 guys give out about 5 each in less than 30 seconds in TB on Saturday and none of them got a hearing.

Its unnecessary, he's been punished for it before, and the other guy got hurt. So it deserves a longer suspension than he got. But I def see your side. These guys can break their composite sticks in half over their knees right? Cross check in the back is unnecessary but not as bad as the irreversible head injuries that we see all too often.

Intent to injure. The first cross check wasnt good but just a penalty. Once he realized he was getting a penalty he went back and cross checked him in the back when he was vulnerable and injured him. Hes got a record of being a dick so that counts for something as well. Even if he did dive there was no reason to go and knock him out for 4-6 weeks

The crazy thing is, Hathaway got 3 games for spitting on Gudbranson. So I guess cross-checking a dude in the back twice, causing injury/intent to injure, is only one game worse than spitting on someone. Got it.

The reason you suck is your soft, lazy players who only care about personal stats and that your dumb gm played too much. Babcock was only thing there that was good but some gm who hasn't proven anything put players in place that cant win and only Babcock realized this.

Bortuzzo's was very bad though, diving or no diving, its a play that doesn't belong. That same force in the back in front of the net is one thing, but a guy in that position risks serious knee injuries. It was an ill advised move, if he was lying flat on his stomach he probably doesnt get 4 games imo. You have to consider the position he was in
