Montreal doesn't want your AHL level defensemen

Montreal might want that 2020 1st though (which could be top 5 or even 1st overall) so Parise, Greenway, and Minny's 2020 1st OA (not protected) for Riley Barber and a 5th to outbid Ottawa ...

That Parise contract is untradeable. Unless Minnesota is going to retain 50%, not team in their right mind will even be interested. Montreal has cap space, but not someone who will be there long term.

Columbus says no, Rask has negative value.

Both teams say no for the Ottawa trade. Melnyk doesn't want a $7M 35 y/o winger signed for 6 more years and the Wild would be insane to move that 1st.

MN says no on the NJD trade. Foligno has been among our best forwards this year and he's a beast on the PK. Given the return a guy like Boyle got last year, Foligno is worth at least a 3rd.

Montreal probably says no to the last trade, they have a bunch of 6/7D.

Seeler is a fine 6/7D, calling him an AHL defenseman isn't accurate. He'd be in our lineup if Soucy - Hunt weren't our best pairing... But I get what you're saying. Montreal is set with bottom pairing/depth D.

Sorry, meant to say AHL defensemen on Montreal.

I think if minny would be willing to take on alzner, montreal will be willing to take on parise

Doesn't make sense for Montreal. Alzner is a lower term with less years and Alzner is doing wonders down in Laval. There's no rush to trade his contract.

I dont disagree but i think getting the 2020 pick (which i think the draft is in montreal?) would be enough for them to bite, along with a larger forward in greenway or another prospect

I don't agree. That Parise contract is cancer no matter what you get back for it. We already have Weber's and Price's. We can't afford another one like that.
