Would be a solid add. Habs seem to have a good team, dominating play, but need more finishers.

While I don't think it would hurt to add offense (Habs have been pretty solid offensively this year), I think the most glaring need is their defense, specifically LD.

LD with Mete and Chiarot is good, but it's the fact that they are forced to play higher in the lineup that throws things out of whack. Habs desperately need a top pairing LD. and guys like Kulak and Reilly just haven't been reliable enough.

Other than that, I'd say the PK needs work, which is odd because last year the Habs PK was great, and it's largely the same group this year.

Also, assuming MTL adds someone like Toffoli or Martinez, or both. someone on the current roster will have to be moved (either involved in this trade or another).

I don't agree. With Drouin and Byron both being out long term, players are already playing higher than they should be. Toffoli would just come in and slot in Drouins spot for the time being.

Not if it’s at the trade deadline though. You can’t have too much depth in the playoffs.

Would rather use the assets and get a LHD. We already have tons of winger depth in the system.

Fair. Either way a trade at the TDL would be able to improve the team without sacrificing depth.

What kind of trade are you thinking? I don't really like the idea of trading any of our prospect depth unless it's a lower tier guy. The draft is in Montreal so we should stockpile picks.
