Jets aren’t giving up a 3rd for forbort. Try a 5th

Isles say no way. Greiss is a crucial piece of this team to make a run this year. Wait until FA and try to snag him then if he doesn't get resigned.

Why would Edmonton do that? I'm not seeing any value in it for them, let alone anything worth a 2nd.

Kings meet you in the middle and take a 4th. If your team is starting Luca Sbisa, you could use Forbort.

My reasoning was add a 2nd line RW and a cheap, solid backup for the next 2 1/2 years. I added Greiss to make the money work, I can see how he’s important for your run this year.

Swap the 2021 1st to 2020. Change the 2020 3rd to a 2021 4th (since VGK doesn't have a 3rd, and the 2020 1st is more valuable to the Kings since it's sooner). Then the Kings say yes please. Could probably even take away the B prospect to keep the contract ## the same, but the Kings still say yes.

Kovalchuk is still a 40-50pt player. It didn’t work out for LA, but EDM needs secondary scoring badly. He’s better than Gagner, Hutton is slightly better than Russell. EDM also saves money this season. That’s why I figured EDM would do the deal of a 2nd, as they get back a 4th.

Kovalchuk is a 36 year old who scored 34 points last year and was on pace for the same point totals this year before LA told him to take a walk. He gives up WAY more than he gets and is basically only useful in the O-zone. He's under contract for another year after this one... you'll have to pay someone to take him. You compare him to Gagner... Gagner has positive numbers in all metrics, plays a more important position and his contract ends after this year. I wouldn't trade them 1-for-1.

How is Hutton "slightly better" than Kris Russell? He doesn't get as many points and he doesn't prevent as many goals at 5v5. Last year and this, Hutton has been on the ice for 50 GF and 80 GA in 1581 minutes (5v5), while Russell has been on the ice for 61 GF and 56 GA in 1681 minutes. He's one of the Oilers prime shutdown guys and the numbers show: 1.99 GA/60 while he's on the ice vs 3.03 for Hutton. I don't see the advantage for the Oilers here either.

I wouldn't trade away Kempe, Hutton or Campbell. That being said, I would jump at that Las Vegas trade. Don't see how the Golden Knights would fit it under the cap, though.

I would be highly surprised (and very happy) if Edmonton accepted that package for Kris Russell alone.
