Sadly we’d probably have to overpay to get him but I think this is too much of an overpay imo. Maybe swap Vesalainen with Stanley.

Vesa is not even cranking the the AHL...at least Stanley, when healthy, is doing something...

Everyone’s so hard on vesa, this is his first full year on NA ice. It’ll take him time to get adjusted. He also has 10 pts in 20 gp which isn’t even that bad. I think Stanley becomes expendable as we now have samberg and heinola pushing for an NHL spot.

Answering if we would is a lot easier than if we will. I think we absolutely would if we have a nice offer, but Koivu has a NMC and he loves it in MN so he might not waive. I think this is a too much for Koivu, but we really don't need Vesalainen. We have way too many left shot wings. Going after Roslovic makes more sense for the Wild but I know the Jets are high on him.

What about a LD prospect in Stanley? Is that an area that you need prospects?

As for the NMC, he is 36 and has never won a cup...I can see him moving it to play in the Playoffs

Depends on what our plan is with Brodin, but I think a right shot forward (particularly an offensively minded one) is much more of a need. Stanley also wouldn't get a fair shake on the Wild since we currently have four bottom pairing D on our roster

Stanley is a 2nd pair LD....As for RWers...We dont have any in the pipe ourselves...Unless Appleton is someone you would want...He got Rookie of the year in the AHL for a reason

Brodin is already locked on the 2nd pairing, so again Stanley wouldn't get a fair shake on the Wild. Our D is pretty set even if we did trade Brodin, Soucy is looking awesome and could handle a 2nd pairing role next year if he keeps playing like he has. Jets might not be good trade partners then, because we pretty much only need picks and right shot forward prospects. As for your Koivu comment, I'm really not sure he'd waive. Our beat writer hinted that he doesn't think Koivu would waive but you never know I guess.
