So Jarry plays well in like 3 games and all of a sudden we are back to 2016 and 2017 where every post here is trading your best goalie cuz apparently its illegal to have two great goalies on your team. Oof.

Exactly! People on Hawks pages are like "we need to trade Crawford while his value is high and we have Lehner!" First of all, there is no guarantee that we keep Lehner beyond this year, and Second, we do not make the playoffs if we only have one of them. We are going to need all the goaltending help we can get.

The thing of it is both Murray and Jarry are RFA after this season and then expansion draft year after. So a decision has to be made on the two of them sooner or later.

They protected Murray over Fleury for a reason. Zero % chance he gets exposed and taken in the expansion draft

I agree. Murray was able to prove capable of being #1 and also 10 years younger than Fleury, so seemed like a no brainer. Still would have been better to get something for him though. Jarry and Murray don’t have that age gap, so either trade one beforehand or trade an asset to keep both. Personally I say move Jarry since Murray has a more proven track record

I can't understand why so many of you think Murray is so good. I know, he has won two Cups, but he is injury prone and he has already had several awful games this year alone. He is barely an average goalie, not worth the $6 to $7 million you guys think he is worth. I'm sure the Penguins will end up paying him but don't expect another Stanley Cup with him around.

I can't believe Murray is the only goalie that has had awful games lol. Fleury has 9 games this year under a sub .900 save % dating back to last season Murray is in the top 10 in save %
