The way he is playing right now, its gotta be more. Also i find a high pick to be useless because pens are in it for the cup rn and keeping jarry only gives them a better chance at that. Unless we get a player or Players back that can make an impact for us right now, i dont see a deal being done. Moore is a great player but the pens have enough bottom 6 players right now with lafferty playing very well.

DeSmith is the guy you'd be looking at. I doubt they would trade Jarry at this point.

I remember reading in one thread that would be at least 2nd included.....

I would go for DeSmith anyway.....while older and 500k expensiver, PIT proly want to build on Jarry, and even from statistical pov ( NHL games ) :

DeSmith.....50 GP......2,66 GA......0,917%
Jarry............36 GP......2,64GA.......0,914%

and still....you would have to negotiate Jarry while with DeSmith you have peace for next three years

still wonder why 30 Teams passed on guy at waivers....

I think we are too worried about the backup. When we had Mac, he never had to face the lack of defence that Hutch faced this season. I think he'll rebound now that Keefe is in and likely not doing the same crap babs did.

I think so too... just checking in, you know... worst case scenario.

Should get a decent look at deployment this week.

Hutchinson was never a factor in goaltendin, neither the "Wizard of Oz" would help him.......you ppl are putting to much hopes into Keefe wizardy now......its just Team started playing again while they were performing "silent riot" on ice to kick Babcock out.....

Hes just another of those Gs ( same as Sparks ) that are to good for AHL, but will never make impact against big bois....

What a surprise, you think the team is going to be bad. You are worse than Troll Nation.

doubful.

From my understanding "If the end of year cap space isn’t enough to absorb the bonuses actually earned, then the excess is rolled into the next year and counts against the salary cap, "

The penguins have 3+ million in bonus that looks like it's going to be paid out.
They are 1.5 million under the cap.
They aren't retaining on anyone.
They are most likely going to have to make room which means trading someone somewhere down the line.

I’d offer Kerfoot for Jarry. Then immediately work on reasonable extension. I think Jarry has starter potential and if Andersen got hurt Leafs are screwed with current backups we have.

Honestly, I would guess that the league average price for a good back up is somewhere between a 3rd and 5th round pick. Using Mike Condon as an example Pit grabbed him off of waivers about 2 years ago when their goalies were hurt then flipped him for a 5th rounder when his play improved with them. I would say jarry has higher potential and "pedigree" than condon as he was a 2nd round pick himself. So in a vacuum I wouldn't think your trade offer is necessarily bad. BUT outside of the vacuum, TOR has seemed to be in need of a good backup and Jarry is playing unbelievable this year and pit still has need for him themselves. Because of that I would see Pit asking for a second and maybe a b level prospect if they were going to trade jarry to TOR.

175k could certainly be retained as that’s what it is costing you to have him buried. But Toronto would need more.

I am very high on Moore and dont want to part with him for a backup.

Does Jarry get more than 1.25 million AAV as RFA?
If so, Desmith or Georgiev are both better options.
Maybe even Copely from Capitals.

that's under the assumption they can't move him else where.
I don't think moving him is an issue. Which is why they waited till the last minute to put him on waivers to begin with, while teams were pressed against the cap.
